Name: Megan
Gender: Female
Chronological Age: 12
Clinical Diagnosis: Normal intelligence with auditory
perception difficulties
Introduction
Megan has a history of ear infections and is diagnosed
with auditory perception difficulties with overall
normal oral language and normal intelligence.
The following are direct quotes from twelve-year-old
Megan who has been on the TLP Classic Kit for
about six weeks. Her parents purchased TLP last
year, but only implemented it inconsistently for
the first two CD’s as Megan was quite adept
at sabotaging the process. Recently, they have
become more proactive in establishing an environment
with rewards and consequences and compliance has
regulated considerably. Now, Megan is enjoying
the results so much I don’t believe you
could pay her not to use it. I have faxed the
Observations Checklist I helped her fill out by
asking questions to define or illustrate the terms.
I am also including the Observations Checklist
I had her dad fill out to verify these results.
Some of the discrepancies of change Megan noted
were in areas with her contact with friends that
may not have been observed. Megan has been in
ongoing speech therapy with me for the past two
years for auditory processing issues. She also
sees a tutor for math on a regular basis. She
moved from an elite private school to a public
school this past fall, which was a good change
for her. There are results noted as significant
change since the onset of The Listening Program®
on a regular basis.
The Listening Program® Observations Checklist
Megan and her father completed The Listening Program®
Observations Checklist on March 23, 2005. Megan
was on CD # 5 of the TLP Classic Kit, Cycle One
following the Extended Schedule.
The following summarizes Megan’s own observations
and those of her father. The summary indicates
the total number of positive changes, by category
out of the total number possible. What is significant
is that there were no negative observations made
although Megan’s father did share that while
improving Megan still has some sound sensitivity
and is easily annoyed when tired. Also worth noting
is that Megan shared a change in her eating habits,
not eating as much and taking smaller portions
of food; she is more aware of her environment,
picking up on lot’s of little things that
she had not previously paid attention to; and
shares she has much better handwriting.

Megan’s Comments
about Life since Starting TLP
“Last year I didn’t have time to talk
to my friends. After school I had so much homework
that I could only tlak to them at recess. I only
got to go to two sleepovers. I’m doing better
in school. I’m getting good grades. I feel
better. I get to spend more time with my friends
after school, during the week and weekends. I’m
getting enough sleep. I don’t get nightmares
anymore, and I fall asleep faster. It’s
making more sense to me. I can pay attention better
and I don’t feel confused. I like school
now. I get to do moe things that I want to do
now and I can do things (works) faster. I get
a better grade, even in math which I was failing
last year. My average last year was a D, and this
year it’s and 80. I even make some100’s.
I’m more responsible. I am happier with
my life now.”
