Diagnosis: Down Syndrome
Background: In my practice I have two patients
doing The Listening Program at the moment. The
first one is a 16-year-old Down Syndrome boy.
His three brothers have moved to the US five years
ago. Since then he withdrew himself and stopped
socializing and doing his chores. On this first
visit, he did not greet or establish eye contact,
or make any sound. Psychological and hearing evaluations
were difficult to conduct. He started TLP five
weeks ago, and the following improvements have
been reported by his mother.
He establishes eye contact when addressing someone.
He is happier, listens to music, watches TV and
does chores. He has learned to make sandwiches.
He is gentler to animals and people. He is more
affectionate and energetic. He has in an improved
attention span and long-term memory and he is
less sensitive to sound.
